Classic Blackjack fun
Classic blackjack but with the added advantage of the cards being dealt Face up! When the cards are dealt, you see both of your cards AND both of the Dealer’s cards. Thus the name: Face Up. Being able to see the Dealer’s full hand presents some unique rules and challenges.
For instance, if the Dealer is forced to stand on his/her/its first two cards, the game will automatically hit your hand until you beat the Dealer or you bust out. Another rule difference: The Dealer will stand on any hard 17 or more and on any soft 18 or more.
The Dealer will hit on a hard 16 or less and on a soft 17 or less. And another one: Blackjack pays even money in Face Up. Dealer, devil that he/she/it is, wins all ties. Keep in mind-this game is played using European Rules, which means that you can only double down when your first two cards total 9, 10 or 11.
This game is exclusive to Small Screen Casinos and is certified by the UK Gambling Commission as having been independently tested and up to the required standards for players in the UK. If you experience any difficulties with this game or any other game you should follow our Complaints procedure and contact us. The best online Blackjack is always at The Phone Casino.
Face Up 21 is a variation of Blackjack where both the player and the Dealer are dealt their cards face-up. Seeing both of the Dealer's cards -face up-, allows the player to make a decision.
For the Player, the objective of the game is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand without exceeding 21 or by the Dealer's hand going bust (i.e. going over 21).
8 decks are used, 52 cards each. Cards are shuffled after each game.
The value of a hand is simply the sum of the point values of each card in the hand. In Blackjack, cards are valued in the following way:
The cards from 2 through 9 have their face values;
10, Jack, Queen, and King are all valued at 10;
An Ace can be counted as either 1 or 11. An Ace always has the value that makes the best hand. Suppose you have Ace and 7. The value of this hand can be either 8 or 18. If you stop here, it will be 18. But let's assume you've drawn one more card. The hand contains Ace, 7 and 8. Its total value is 16; and
Blackjack is an initial two-card combination consisting of an ace and a ten-value card.
Betting Limits - per hand
Minimum bet: 50p
Maximum bet: £100. The maximum single bet that can be placed on the hand is £100 however, you can double this if the option becomes available.
You are allowed to bet on up to two hands. Click the DEAL button to start dealing the cards. Both you and the Dealer are dealt two cards. You all receive cards face up. If you play multiple hands, several cards will be dealt to you. For each hand played, two cards are dealt face up. In this case each hand will be treated separately.
Where the dealer has Blackjack and the player's hands do not, the Dealer automatically wins. Where the Player has Blackjack and the dealer does not, the player automatically wins. Where both the Dealer and Player do not have Blackjack, the following options will become available:
Double - The Player can double after the first two cards have been dealt and before drawing an additional (third) card. Click DOUBLE to double your original bet amount and get one more card added to your hand. After this, no more cards can be added to the hand.
Note: You are only allowed to double the initial bet if the sum of the first two cards dealt to you is 9, 10 or 11. No splits are available in this version of Blackjack.
Hit - click the HIT button to draw an additional card for your hand. You can draw as many cards as required. If the total reaches 21, drawing cards stops automatically. If your hand busts (its total exceeds 21), your hand loses and will clear from the screen.
Stand - click the STAND button to stop drawing cards for your hand. Once STAND is clicked, play either moves to the next hand or, if it is the only or the last hand, then the Dealer will start to play his hand.
Once all of the player's hands have completed, the Dealer starts playing his hand. The Dealer must hit if the sum of his cards is less than 17 or is a soft 17 (a hand that includes an Ace valued as '11' for example a hand consisting of Ace+6 or Ace+2+4). The Dealer must stand if his hand is a hard 17 or higher.
Once the Player and the Dealer have both completed their hands, then the Player's and the Dealer's hands are compared.
The winning hand is the one with the highest total without busting.
If both the Player and the Dealer have Blackjack, then the Player wins. Otherwise the Dealer wins all other tied hands.
Note: if your hand busts, you lose, even if the dealer's hand busts as well.
