It's all about the top hat this time.
Slot game evolution dictates that Monopoly must get involved at some point. So it's perhaps no surprise that the latest incarnation of Slingo is a marriage with the popular property board game. Slingo Monopoly, or Monopoly Slingo if you like, has just launched. The aim of the game is the same as all other versions of Slingo, but the board game element brings something different to the table.
Slingo Monopoly looks so much different to it's sister games. A Monopoly board, complete with all the usual favourites like Go To Jail and Free Parking, surrounds the 5x5 grid. The grid isn't made up of numbers but Monopoly cards. Instead of the slot element players roll dice to move their counter around the board. Where the counter lands determines which cards are removed from the grid.
How To Play Slingo Monopoly
The aim of any Slingo game is to get a line - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five. This is the case with Monopoly Slingo. One thing that is different with this game is that counters vary the volatility of the game. The dog for example gives you 8 rolls, up to 4 extra rolls and a x500 prize. However choose T-Rex for 7 rolls, unlimited extra rolls and x4000. Other counter options are the Racing Car and Battleship. Top prize is £100,000.
Wagering on Slingo Monopoly starts at just 20p a turn. This can be increased up to a maximum of £25 (Demo). The maximum wager may vary from site to site. There is no Autoplay but Slingo Monopoly does allow you to wager on. Basically once your turn has finished - and any free rounds played - you'll be invited to play on for a given price and potential win. We advise against this option as wins are rare! The number of turns you can play on is determined by your counter.
Why Play Slingo Monopoly
Each turn of Slingo Monopoly is accompanied with a cheesey commentator who happily exclaims where you've landed. Initially we thought this may get annoying but somehow it seems right for this particular version of Slingo. All the Monopoly elements are included in the game so the commentator will tell you if you're going to Jail, have a chance card or have passed Go. Note when you pass Go you don't collect £200 but a cash prize is added to the Free Parking square. Land on that to win the pot.
Prizes further increase when you land on a set of properties. Multipliers come into play to help boost winnings. Note that Slingo Monopoly only offers 7 or 8 spins to players instead of the usual 11. Jokers are in play but they act differently. If your counter lands on a Joker square you're presented with a bonus game. This comprises of 9 playing cards - one of which will award a cash prize. If your select the right card then you will win. There are no options for selecting which cards to turn on the 5x5 grid.
This game is supplied by Slingo and is certified by the UK Gambling Commission as having been independently tested and up to the required standards for players in the UK. If you experience any difficulties with this game or any other game you should follow our Complaints procedure and contact us.
There are several features in Monopoly Slingo that take elements of the board game and apply them to online gambling games:
Properties: act as multipliers
Joker: acts as the Chance card, letting you pick a property from a random set
Community Chest: random event (cash prize, Get Out of Jail Free card, Go to Jail or further moves around the board)
Go: passing Go adds cash to the Free Parking square
Free Parking: collect the money accumulated by passing through go
Go to Jail: penalty for three rolls, or until you roll a double
Extra rolls: equivalent to free spins on slots, you get them by scoring a double on the dice
It’s worth pointing out that the good bonuses are few and far between, while Go To Jail carries a huge penalty and happens more often than not.
To first try and get on the property ladder on Slingo Monopoly, you first need to set your volatility. The other two symbols we didn’t go over earlier are the battleship which gives you seven rolls, eight extra rolls, and a top prize of £25,000 and the T-Rex which again gives you seven rolls, but infinite extra rolls and a top prize of £40,000.
Once you’ve picked a level you’re comfortable with, it’s time to set your bet. You can set it from as little as 20p. There’s no autoplay, but you can keep wagering. This means that once your first set of die rolls (which act as spins) are up, you can choose to either stake more or less when prompted.
The aim of this game, as well most other Slingo games, is to land five of a kind in a line, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. It’s a bit little like playing Connect 4! What’s sets it apart from other Slingo games however is the Chance and Community Chest elements that are included along with passing ?Go’.
Rather than getting cash for doing it like in the board game, cash is added to the Free Parking square and if you land on that, you win the pot. Another difference that makes it stand out from other Slingo games is the Joker character. Here, he’s been added to the board and if you land on him, he’ll randomly select one card from each property to help you get closer to crossing them all off your list. The cards are then reshuffled, and you’ll be placed on the property that he picked.
Here you get to choose from nine playing cards, one of which has a cash prize that you’ll win if you pick the right card.
As well as all the good stuff from the board game there is also some of the not so good stuff — you can be put in Jail if you’re unlucky enough to land on it. Help is at hand though! If you roll a double, you’ll be released, or you’ll be let our scot-free on the third roll attempt.
A bet is placed only when it has been received by our server from your handset using our software. Once a bet has been placed it is final and binding and cannot be cancelled or changed. For the avoidance of doubt, a bet remains valid even if the result cannot for any reason be displayed back to your handset (due, for example, to a network failure, interruption of communication, or if you receive a phone call). In the event of a game termination, any relevant jackpot will be paid out on a random draw authorised by the regulator.
The theoretical average return to player (RTP) is up to 95.3%. This RTP represents the long-term expected payback of the game which has been calculated by an independent testing company and monitored monthly.
